Abstract

En este trabajo se presenta un análisis de las marcas de segmentación que se encuentran en el manuscrito autógrafo de la comedia Barlaán y Josafat de Lope de Vega, cuyo paradero ha sido localizado recientemente. Por ello, en la primera parte del artículo se propone una sinopsis detallada del argumento de la comedia que tiene en cuenta diferentes criterios (variaciones métricas, espaciales, temporales y en el decorado, además de los momentos de tablado vacío); a partir de este trabajo de segmentación, por un lado se proponen algunas consideraciones acerca de la estructura de la comedia, mientras que por otro se desentrañan los significados de las rayas que el Fénix trazó en el manuscrito, y que desvelan funciones diversas.

In this paper I present an analysis of the segmentation marks found in the autograph manuscript of Barlaán y Josafat by Lope de Vega; the manuscript is now preserved at the Bodmer Library (Geneva, Switzerland). In the first part of my article I present a detailed synopsis of the plot of the play, considering different items (metrical variation, changes in space, time and scenography, as well as the moments of empty stage). Starting from this segmentation, I focus on the one hand on some considerations about the structure of the play, while on the other hand I take into consideration the meaning of the lines the author draw in the manuscript, which reveal different functions.
