Abstract

El presente trabajo busca analizar el cuento “Habitaciones”, parte del libro de cuentos Causas naturales (2013) de Claudia Hernández (San Salvador, 1975). Primeramente se hará un breve estado de la cuestión en cuanto al análisis de la producción de Hernández. Además, se pondrá a dialogar el texto de Hernández desde lo que Mark Fisher denominó ‘lo raro’ en su libro The Weird and the Eerie (2016), junto con el concepto de ‘lo lynchiano’, término creado por David Foster Wallace en su ensayo David Lynch Keeps His Head (1997) para referirse al universo del cineasta David Lynch. Este espacio de ‘lo raro’ y ‘lo lynchiano’ servirá como coyuntura entre la literatura fantástica latinoamericana y lo que será definido posteriormente como el nonsense ocampiano (Biancotto, 2015). 

This work seeks to analyze the short story “Habitaciones”, part of the short story collection Causas naturales (2013) by Claudia Hernández (San Salvador, 1975). To begin with, there will be a brief statement of the matter regarding the analysis of Hernández’s production. In addition, Hernández’s text will dialogue from what Mark Fisher called ‘the weird’ in his book The Weird and the Eerie (2016), along with the concept of ‘Lynchian’, a term created by David Foster Wallace in his essay David Lynch Keeps His Head (1997) to refer to the universe of filmmaker David Lynch. This space of ‘the weird’ and ‘Lynchian’ will serve as a juncture between the Latin-American fantastic literature and what will be later defined as the ocampiano nonsense (Biancotto, 2015).
