Abstract

En Los ingrávidos (2011) de Luiselli una voz femenina relata cómo va elaborando una semblanza del poeta mexicano Gilberto Owen. En este análisis se echa luces sobre dos aspectos interrelacionados y complementarios. En la primera parte se verifica cómo Luiselli maneja el género de la biografía imaginaria y juega con las tensiones entre ficción y no ficción, entre las categorías de verdad y similitud (Crusat 2014). Con el fin de entender mejor esta división entre realidad e imaginación, la segunda parte se enfoca en el papel de los animales en la novela. Los gatos, las cucarachas, las moscas y los mosquitos también son fantasmas que cruzan fronteras espacio-temporales. En los cuatro relatos, tanto los de la joven escritora como los de Owen, en el presente y el pasado, los animales otorgan una dimensión simbólica profunda a esta biografía imaginaria (Lámbarry, 2015). El análisis de los animales revela estrategias literarias específicas que a su vez arrojan una nueva luz sobre el género de la biografía imaginaria.

In Luiselli’s Los ingrávidos (2011), a female voice narrates how she elaborates a portrait of the Mexican poet Gilberto Owen. For this analysis, we want to shed light on two interrelated and complementary aspects. The first part examines how Luiselli handles the genre of the imaginary biography and how she plays with the tensions between fiction and nonfiction, between the categories of truth and similarity (Crusat 2014). In order to better understand this division between reality and imagination, the second part focuses on the role played by animals in the novel. Cats, cockroaches, flies and mosquitoes are also ghosts that cross spatio-temporal boundaries. In all four stories, both those of the young writer and those of Owen, in the present and the past, animals lend a profound symbolic dimension to this imaginary biography (Lámbarry, 2015). The analysis of the animals reveals specific literary strategies that clarifies the genre of the imaginary biography.
