Abstract

El texto narrativo se ha ido apropiando de los espacios –calles, barrios, ciudades, caminos, etc.–, para integrar un mundo de significaciones que permiten la reconstrucción de espacios de origen y la recuperación de un lugar privilegiado para ‘habitar’. Para ello, utilizan mecanismos que transforman la percepción externa en experiencia para convertir, como un todo, el espacio literario. Uno de ellos es la imagen visual o narrativa. Las imágenes son espacios de mucha repercusión en los procesos de la comunicación y en áreas multidisciplinares, porque permite percibir que las sociedades se han vuelto espacios habitables de lo visual en el sentido de entender que los grandes conglomerados no son los únicos productores del flujo visual. De este modo, la finalidad de este artículo es ingresar al concepto de urbanidad en autoras chilenas, como son Guadalupe Santa Cruz, Lina Meruane, Cynthia Rimsky y Andrea Jeftanovic. Las obras seleccionadas presentan simbólicamente una estructura política donde la retórica urbana elabora otras formas de relación entre el significante, el significado y el referente real. La inclusión de fotografías propias y elementos visuales como parte del proceso de escritura provoca una relación construida en el detalle o fragmento, haciendo que la metáfora visual se convierta en un trazo epistemológico sobre el régimen de la imagen y no de esa imagen en particular.

The narrative text has been appropriating spaces –streets, neighborhoods, cities, roads, etc.– to integrate a world of meanings that allow the reconstruction of original spaces and the recovery of a privileged place to ‘inhabit’. To do so, they use mechanisms that transform external perception into experience to convert the literary space. One of them is the visual or narrative image. Images are spaces of great repercussion in the processes of communication and in multidisciplinary areas, because they allow us to perceive that societies have become inhabitable spaces of the visual in the sense of understanding that large conglomerates are not the only producers of the visual flow. Thus, the purpose of this article is to enter the concept of urbanity in Chilean authors, such as Guadalupe Santa Cruz, Lina Meruane, Cynthia Rimsky, and Andrea Jeftanovic. The selected works symbolically present a political structure where the urban rhetoric elaborates other forms of relationship between the signifier, the signified and the real referent. The inclusion of own photographs and visual elements as part of the writing process, provokes a relationship built on the detail or fragment, making the visual metaphor become an epistemological trace on the regime of the image and not of that particular image.
