El terror es la marca de la cuentística de la escritora argentina Mariana Enríquez. En este artículo se explora lo abyecto como mecanismo de articulación narrativa con el cual Enríquez logra crear múltiples y heterogéneos espacios liminales del terror donde lo espeluznante se presenta como una forma extrema de lo raro. Se analiza entonces lo abyecto, por su parte, como forma de suciedad y marginalización, que inunda la realidad cotidiana de la narración y la convierten en una zona movediza e indeterminada donde se acercan y colisionan las categorías del adentro y el afuera, lo humano y lo animal, lo vivo y lo muerto. Lo que emerge de este choque de realidades es lo que Mark Fisher llama lo espeluznante y que aquí estudiamos como una forma del terror más característico de la narrativa de Enríquez.
Terror is the signature of the Argentine writer Mariana Enriquez’s short stories. This article explores the abject as a narrative articulation mechanism with which Enriquez manages to create multiple and heterogeneous liminal spaces of terror, where the eerie is presented as an extreme form of the weird. Thus, the abject is analyzed as a form of dirtiness and marginalization that floods the every-day reality in “El chico sucio”, and turn it into a moving and undefined zone, in which the categories of the inside/the outside, the human/the animal, the living/the dead, meet and collide. What emerges from this clash of realities is what Mark Fisher calls the eerie, which we study here as one of the most characteristic forms of terror of Enriquez’s narrative.
